Courage To Take Action (Summer Challenge)
- 0 Days to go
The Courage to Take Action campaign was created to highlight the courage it takes to live with Alzheimer’s and to be an advocate in the fight against the disease.
Every 65 seconds someone’s courage is tested when they hear the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, and then again when they realize this condition is the only one in the top 10 deadly diseases that has no cure or reversible treatment.
At the Fisher Center Lab, we have been working hard towards discovering the causes and a cure for Alzheimer’s. We recently finalized the construction of a DNA-Encoded Library (DEL) technology, which is a large drug-discovery platform that allows for efficient and cost-effective drug screening. This new technology allows researchers to test millions of compounds in a single tube, whereas the previous technology needed a high-capacity room to house several large machines with well-plates, each well-plate tests about one million compounds.
It is anticipated that the number of individuals affected by this condition will triple to 14 million by 2050, which is why your support towards Alzheimer’s research is so important!
I am asking you to gather your courage to help fight this frightening disease. Support our Courage to Take Action campaign by making a donation or creating a fundraiser today.
Every dollar empowers us to fund our online public Information Program, ALZInfo.org, and supports research to identify the causes of, and find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
Together, our courage to take action will help end Alzheimer’s.
